Intergenerational MentoringIntergenerational Mentoring Fairhill Partners

From classes in On-line Games for Kids taught in the Computer Learning Center by young students to older adults - to pickle ball taught to Kinship Teens by older adults then taught by Teens to young campers, learning happens across ages at Fairhill.

When the weather warms up, FIGGS (Fairhill Intergenerational Gardening Group Students) appear. Their garden products are often on sale in the Farmers Market at Shaker Square.

On Wednesdays (4:00-6:00 pm), a group of older adults from Judson Manor are Grand in Hand - “adoptive” grand parents for local families. Over snacks, stories, and activities informal support is given and received.

Teen Leadership & Entrepreneurship programs serve kinship teens all year round but especially at school breaks. These teens being raised by grandparents have signed up to learn to be leaders in our community. Opportunities to work and mentor with youths 13 -19 are varied.

Kinship Camps for students from 6-12 happen at Fairhill every summer for 2 one week sessions. Volunteers teach visual and performing arts, swimming, games, make snacks and everything in between! Contact the Successful Aging Programs at 216.421.1350, extension 113 for more information on upcoming dates in 2010.

For more information on intergenerational activities and mentoring opportunities at Fairhill Partners contact Charlie Austin at 216.421.1350, extension 117 or caustin@fairhillpartners.org.
